1. Our Commitment
ETAAC Pest Control wants everyone to be able to find information about pest problems, request a quote and book service, regardless of ability or the technology they use. We are working to make etaac.org (the “Site”) accessible and usable for people with disabilities, including people who are blind or have low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, have mobility or dexterity limitations, or have cognitive or learning disabilities.
2. Accessibility Standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities. WCAG 2.2 Level AA is our target; we have not yet obtained a formal third-party audit, and this statement is not a claim of full conformance. We review the Site against these guidelines as we make changes.
3. Measures We Take
Measures we have built into the Site include:
- Semantic HTML. Pages use headings, lists, landmarks (such as header, navigation, main content and footer) and tables with header cells so that screen readers and other assistive technologies can interpret structure and navigate efficiently.
- Keyboard navigation. Menus, links, buttons, forms and the booking process are designed to be usable with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a logical focus order.
- Reduced motion. Animations and transitions are minimized, and the Site respects the “reduce motion” setting in your operating system or browser.
- Color and contrast. We choose text and background colors intended to meet WCAG contrast ratios, and we do not rely on color alone to convey information.
- Text alternatives. Informative images, including photographs used to help identify pests, have descriptive alternative text; purely decorative images are hidden from assistive technologies.
- Accessible forms. Our contact, quote and checkout forms use visible labels associated with each field, identify required fields in text, and provide error messages that describe how to fix the problem.
- Responsive and resizable layout. The Site adapts to different screen sizes and supports browser zoom and text resizing up to 200% without loss of content or function.
- Clear language. We try to write in plain language, explain technical pest control terms, and use descriptive link text.
4. Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some parts of the Site may not yet be fully accessible. Areas we are aware of include:
- Third-party components. Payment forms provided by payment processors, and the cookie consent banner, are supplied by third parties. We choose providers that state a commitment to accessibility, but we do not fully control their code.
- Older content and images. Some older articles or images may have missing or incomplete alternative text or heading structure. We are reviewing and updating this content.
- Linked documents. Some linked documents, such as product labels or safety data sheets hosted on third-party websites, may not be fully accessible.
If you encounter any of these or any other barrier, please let us know so we can help and prioritize a fix.
5. Feedback and Assistance
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of the Site. If you have difficulty using any part of the Site, or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us:
- Telephone: (855) 987-5196, 9AM–6PM
- Email: [email protected] (please include “Accessibility” in the subject line)
- Online: Contact Us
To help us respond, please tell us the web address of the page, a description of the problem, and the browser and assistive technology you were using, if you are comfortable sharing it. We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within two business days. Information you provide is handled in line with our Privacy Policy.
6. Other Ways to Request Service
You never need to use the Site to get help with a pest problem. If any part of the Site is difficult to use, you can:
- call us at (855) 987-5196 between 9AM and 6PM to request a quote, book or change an appointment, or ask about a refund or re-treatment, with the same prices and terms that are available online;
- email [email protected] with your contact details and a description of your pest problem, and we will follow up by your preferred method; or
- ask us to provide any of our policies, including our Terms & Conditions and Refund & Cancellation Policy, in an alternative format, such as plain text by email or read aloud over the phone.
If you need an accommodation during an on-site visit, such as extra time, written instructions, or communication by text rather than phone, please tell us when you book and we will pass the request to the contractor.
7. Ongoing Efforts
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We consider accessibility when we add new features or content, review pages using keyboard navigation and accessibility checking tools as part of that work, and update this statement as improvements are made. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when this statement was last reviewed.
